Let's go to the continent of Africa, where clothing flows with graceful, billowing lines.
The bearded man in the foreground is holding a harp-like, gourd-based kora. We would imagine he's a griot.
It was not my intention to portray the people in the mid ground in a scuffle. They were supposed to be dancing. But, sh*t happens. Even outside a mosque, sometimes.
The mud and wood mosque of Djenne is a monument. The expanses of smooth, hard mud wall are studded by the protruding ends of the structure's wooden skeleton.
First sketch of 08, I do believe.

This sketch reminds me, oddly enough, of the early morning French Market when vendors are setting up their goods. Some of the vendors from Africa wear flowing robes, and the lines in and out of the market, more or less orderly, resemble the lines of the Mosque, and of course there is music!
Please pardon any spelling and punctuation errors. I am a wordsmith but have multiple sclerosis and reflex sympathetic dysthrophy and a number of other auto-immune problems which are gradually taking their toll on my ability onto write-not to THINK,mind you-just to write, so I use spellcheck when I can but check it over again anyway when I'm checking it for punctuation and syntax problems. These physical problems probably all stem from moving away from Louisiana and not getting my daily allotment of cafe au`lait and croissants or beignets. Not to mention my favorite game of "get lost and find a great family-owned restaurant" in Southern (read: Shevepoint and below) Louisiana. Ah,I'd best stop before I get Lost in Nostalgia.
Now I'm living in West Virginia, where my "mother-in-law" makes great biscuits. As of yet ,this state of "hell,no!" allows everything BUT glbT marriage, even if your partner is more of a man than his brother and is a registered weapon himself-note than I did not say OWNS a registered weapon!
I'm a Shang-Ling Taoist and bemoaning the fact that I cannot find a Master willing to take me ashis/her student (my form of Celestial Masters Taoism is lineage-based and I cannot go any further by reading, no matter how much I read. I must have a Master to teach me how to use it. I tried studying online under Master Hua-Ching Ni but He is too busy and the class just fell apart. I did get through Level One, though before it. My husband said if I could find a Master willing to take as a student, I could go student, I could have permission (Asian marriage) to go study as long as necessary. Since He's studied years under some of His, He knows what He is granting. Many Masters, however, won't take on a woman. You just have to ask. And ask. And ask. If one is persistent enough, the Master might take you, just to get rid of the constant asking.
That's a little about me. I happened upon you through your semester exam blog on Confucius/HuangTi. Why no Laozi, though? (I got most answers on Confucius and HuangTi right, btw.)
Youll be hearing from me again. I'll be praying to the Yellow Emperor for successful operations and easy recuperation time! You should have gone to a Hospital of Traditional Oriental Medicine! I think there are maybe 5 in the US and prices~to US hospitals, probably lower, care much better!
